Choose at least TWO of the selections from the representative work on Postmodernism. Please have these two selections be from different writers under discussion in Module Seven. Based upon what you have learned in the module, discuss here how the writing illustrates the concepts and characteristics belonging to the Postmodern Era. You should use quotations from the work to help substantiate your points of view. Furthermore, respond to the work from a personal level or personal place. What is it about the work that speaks to you; what do you have in common with what the writing writes about? For example, how do you feel about the narrator of A Clockwork Orange speaking in his own specific “lingo,” or vernacular language? Is this like the language of a gang, or is it the fashionable or vogue language of the period? (When I was young, we used words like cool, dig, groovy, far out, and we wore hip-huggers, bell bottoms, mid-rifts, halter tops). Is he a product of his time; is he not accountable or is he entitled? Or, in Atwood’s case, what do you feel about a society that sees the value of women as being nothing more than child-bearers? Haven’t we been there before? And, are we getting there again?
