Each student shall select a research topic of his or her choice addressing a topiccovered during the course. After having conducted thorough research, the studentshall write a research paper of eight (8) or more pages on a chosen subject. Saidpaper shall be typed on 8-1/2” X 11” paper, double- spaced, with appropriatefootnotes and/or legal citations, and with an appropriate bibliography. III. COURSE OBJECTIVES:The objectives of this course are for students to know (1) to understand the foundation of ethicsand ethical theories, (2) to discuss the development and influence of values, norms, and culturein connection with how they relate to ethical issues in criminal justice, (3) to describe thedevelopment and importance of ethics in criminal justice, including professional codes ofconduct and decision-making in criminal justice organizations, (4) to identify ethical issuesconfronting the criminal justice system, its processes, and personnel, and (5) to analyze currentissues in criminal justice using different ethical theories
