Write a report using the book “Cities of Salt” by Mahfouz, Naguib talking about

Write a report using the book “Cities of Salt” by Mahfouz, Naguib talking about how gender is functioning in the text and sexuality with the female characters. Make this a literary paper.
Students have the choice of three formats for their final paper: a comparative literature paper, a history paper, or a hybrid option of both. Once one option is selected students will write an 8-12 paper in times new roman font 12 double-spaced. Your paper should have a properly cited bibliography using Chicago and it should include either historical sources or literary texts to support your argument. Each paper should have an introduction, literature review section, and conclusion, in addition to the body paragraph sections forming the main argument. Students are strongly urged to see either instructors or both to discuss their final paper if they have not already done so. Both instructors will be available during exam week for final questions.
How are they treated?
Is it being feminized or masculinized in Munif’s text?
How does that function as a dynamic of power?
Where do we see agency?
Is it a Masculine agency feminine agency or both?
Research feminist criticism about the texts in the class and use that research to cross-analyze your findings through your close readings.
In terms of content, the final paper topic should feature a synthesis and engagement with the course themes and it should follow from the feedback and topic of your book review. The paper should adhere to the following rubric: 1) strong argued research (evidence for argument), 2) cogent and clear writing (adhering to the Chicago manual of style and Chicago citation style; good flow of lucid and well-crafted writing, limited grammatical and stylistic errors) 3) engagement with some course themes and topics (examples include the nature of colonialism, decolonization, modernity, gender and sexuality) and 4) original argument.
