• Length: At least 600 words (2-3 pages)
• Must have a title
• Include at least 2 original similes and underline/highlight
• Include at least 1 original metaphor and underline/highlight
• Include at least 1 example of personification and underline/highlight
• Include sensory detail appealing to at least 3 of the senses and underline/highlight
(sight, smell, sound, touch, taste)
• Use strong verbs and vivid adjectives (Detail is the key to a successful
descriiption!)
• Be sure to use transitions
• Use MLA formatting for heading, etc. (don’t forget last name & page # in right
