This is your first researched speech. You must have 6 (six) sources, and sources should be reputable! USE EBSCO AND PROQUEST FIRST, but a Google search can be handy, as well.
Please make sure each source is cited in speech and BOLDED. As a speaker, you SPEAK your sources for your audience. DO NOT GIVE ME A WORKS CITED OR REFERENCE PAGE. This is NOT as essay. This IS a speech! Please follow the sample speech provided. You list the credentials of the source, source’s name, where the source was quoted, and date. For example:

Your Topic
To celebrate Emancipation Day (the day Abraham Lincoln signed into law the ending of slavery in Washington D.C.), we are going to focus on influential black leaders that have impacted society and were change agents in their communities, shaping culture and public policy.

You can choose any one you would like, but they must be from this list. Personally I would like it to be about Bessie Coleman or Marsha P. Johnson.
For your three points, I want you to research and tell your audience the following:
) Background of the leader. When did they live? Where did they grow up? What was happening in their community or society that would help shape who they became?
) What did they do to achieve historical significance? What were there significant accomplishments? Were there significant events they participated in or led?
) What is their legacy? As a result of their influence and guidance, how is our world different today? Were there any changes to laws or policies because of their impact?
I attached a sample informative speech i expect mine to look similar in format.
