I need help executing the quantitative models for my paper (merging datasets, running the models + descriptive statistics models) based on the following guidelines:
In this research, I will be testing different models of linear regression, as OSV is coded as a continuous count variable of the number of deaths per calendar year. In the first model I will be conducting a linear regression between OSV deaths in a given year/ country and the variable external support, that identifies if external support was offered, if the conflict was coded as active in that same given year. A second model will also be a regression model including OSV deaths but this time with all the individual variables of the different types of support that the previous variable, external support, consists of. Finally, I will have third model that will control for other cofounding variables such as GDP per capita of the country, count of the number of different types of support provided, if support was given to both sides of a conflict, the duration of the conflict and if the support was bilateral or came from a coalition.
