A personal strength I believe that I have regarding presentations is that I prepare information and I aim to be well-informed prior to presenting. It’s crucial to be well-prepared prior to professional presentations because it allows me to have clarity and organization in how I want to communicate information. This allows me to demonstrate and convey messages effectively so that my audience can better understand the information. A strength that I can use to better approach professional presentations is not procrastinating. Procrastination can hinder preparation in professional presentations because it is associated with being poorly prepared and is a threat to sleepy quality and physical and mental health (Shao, et al., 2024). A weakness that I have regarding professional presentations is that I get anxious and experience stage-fright regarding presenting to people in authority or big crowds. Understanding sources of anxiety and ways to limit its influence can help individuals ‘overcome stage fears and improve overall performance’ (Stackpole & Quiroga-Garza, 2023). I would like to improve on limiting my anxiety in order to gain more confidence during my presentation. It’s helpful to rationalize anxious feelings and ground myself by acknowledging that I am prepared and that I’m fully capable of delivering a professional presentation!
