In your persuasive speeches, you’ve established your credibility largely through cited research. With this speech, you may not have to do quite as much research, so how will you establish your credibility? What can you tell your audience that will enable them to trust you as an authority on your chosen task? Keep the following in mind as you prepare to deliver your speech:
Tell your audience why you are qualified to give this demonstration
Have all necessary items and equipment for your demonstration (BE PREPARED!)
Make sure all aspects of your demonstration are visible to the audience
Be organized with your presentation
Share important information when necessary (for example: safety, cost, impact, etc)
Speak with confidence and don’t rush
Tell your audience how/why they can personally benefit from your demonstration
