develop a 10-15 page research proposal. Your final proposal requires you to reflect upon the methods you learned throughout the term and propose a new research study that builds upon what was learned from previous studies.
The first part of the research proposal should clearly define the research question, describe the issues of interest, and summarize the previous literature. Consider carefully what you have learned from your previous writing assignments and the feedback that followed, making any necessary revisions. Link your new study to the limitations of the previous studies in your “Literature Review” section.
The second part of the proposal should clearly and succinctly describe the new study, the methods used, the ideal sample for the defined population, the setting for the study, and the timeline of the study. Conclude with a clear statement of what is to be gained by this study and how it will inform the previous work in this area. Be sure to include an appropriate (descriptive and creative) title for the new research study.
Your proposal should include the following sections:
Introduction
how will you introduce your topic?
Research question(s)
what is your research question or questions, and why is this question important?
Literature Review
You should have at least five (5) outside articles that pertain to your question(s) and provide a good representation of the current literature on the topic
Summary of your proposed study
What is it that you plan to do, and why is it interesting?
Methodology
What method(s) do you plan to use and why?
Why is this methodology a good one to use to answer your question(s)?
What sampling procedure will you use and why?
What is the setting of your study?
What is the timeline of the study (how long will the data collection portion of the study take)?
Conclusion
How does this study contribute to the existing literature on the topic (from the literature review)?
Assessment
Clearly describes the chosen topic and research question, with at least 5 peer-reviewed articles that clearly summarize the current literature on the topic (25 points)
Clear description of the planned methodology, including the setting, sample, and justification for the chosen method(s) (65 points)
Proposal meets the page and section parameters specified (10 points)
