I need a musical analysis on the song “Drain You” by Nirvana, it is important that the rubric is followed, I will also attach an example of this same assignment as a reference for you, please be sure to include a work cited page and let me know of any issues or concerns. 
Students will write about one of their favorite musical piece (appropriate language and youtube clip of performance).  Must include musical terminology such as: timbre, dynamics, tempo, harmony, historical background about the artist/musical piece, information on the musical genre that influenced it.  Time stamps for referencing parts.  Philosopher’s views on music can be included to support why it impacts the student. Possibly why they think this art should be celebrated globally.   Specific moments should be referenced and time stamps given from selected musical piece.  Must include citation with reference to books, articles, videos.  At minimum two pages long.  12 point font.  Five musical moments with time stamps should be analyzed using terminology we’ve studied in class.
*Essay is tested for plagiarism.  Outside quotes must be in quotations “”.  If using information from my power points, I included where the information was cited.  Include these materials in the bibliography.
All in-class essays, group projects, midterm paper, and final papers:
1) Adhere to the requirements and instructions of the assignment

-melody characteristics and terms: ex- legato, staccato, ornamentation (glissando, trill, , riff, run) melisma, arpeggio, motif, phrase, theme, cadence
-Harmony: ex-chord, major chord, minor chord
-Harmonic characteristics: ex- consonance, dissonance
-Music forms: ex- binary, tinary
-Meter: ex: duple, triple, quadruple
-Rhythm: ex: syncopation
-Tempo: ex: largo, andante, presto
-Tempo Change Terminology: accelerando, decrescendo, ritardando, fermata, rubato, a tempo
-Key Characteristics: ex: tonic, key, tonic chord, major, minor, modulation, key change
-Scales: ex-major, minor, chromatic
-other terminology we learn throughout the year like: falsetto, pizzicato, word painting, embellishment
