This is what I wrote so far :
Throughout my high school years, I struggled trying to figure out what kind of career field I wanted to pursue or major in. It was a daunting task to choose what’s next for me, what was my future going to look like, or what was I going to do for the next 4 years of my life. Nothing felt right, that is until my senior year when I took a forensic science class. This was when I started to figure out my interests and what career goals, I wanted to have for myself.
I remember during high school and even to this day, I was intrigued and enjoyed watching true crime documentaries, murder mysteries, and investigation TV shows. However, I felt that during the pandemic (COVID-19) was when I truly started to see my interests grow into something more and instead into what my future might look like. During this time while confined in my home, I had a lot of time to myself to observe the human behaviors and way of thinking of individual people as they saw to new challenges during this time. As I observed through seeing my neighbors, watching the news, or new shows I witnessed people storing more food than usual, stocking up on toilet paper and other cleaning products of the sort, and people wearing masks & staying further away from each other. This eventually led me to the path of psychology. As the years went on, I jumped into a rabbit hole of psychological studies, where I found out about the different paths/branches of psychology. This eventually allowed me to connect my interest in watching crime/forensic sciences shows to my career goals.
