HIV/AIDS. The virus has changed and no longer moves with the vicious speed of the
1980s, but because it is sexually transmitted, we still are reluctant to talk about it.
That does not mean that many people still do not fear and hate AIDS patients
because of who they think they are. Discuss the history of HIV/AIDS and the way it
shaped the public perceived the infected individual. Next, perform a close reading of
a passage of your choice from Guibert or Monette: – describe the writing style and
emotion evoked through AIDS testimonials. Finally, discuss 
one of the films listed
and critique its historical value – is the plot true to what you know of the history of
the disease?
