Using the provided observation journal template students will provide a detailed account of what they observe during each video. The observation journal should be a minimum of 2-3 pages in length. Make sure to address the following questions as you write your observation journals for each video.
1) How many children were in the classroom?
2) What activities did the teacher have planned with the children?
3) Were the activities developmentally appropriate?
4) How did the teacher interact with the children?
5) What type of play did the children engage in (parallel, solitary, collaborative, etc.)? Give examples.
6) What instances of physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development did you observe during the video? Be specific and provide supporting details.
Each page should be numbered and each section should have an appropriate heading.
