Students will submit a reaction paper on assigned topics. It is due on the assigned date by 11:59
PM. Additionally, an overview of the paper must be posted on the discussion page for comments
from fellow students.
All papers will be at least two (2) full typed pages, double spaced and include a title page and
reference page per APA standards. The topic should be researched, the crime summarized, and
include a personal reflection on the crime. This reflection should be well-informed by course
material. At minimum, the following questions must be addressed:
1. How severe was the crime?
2. Does the disposition of the crime seem fair?
3. How does this compare to the treatment of violent or “street” criminals?
4. Will the punishment given discourage similar behavior in others?
5. What was the impact on the public as well as the direct victims
