The following is a series of questions that
highlight what you should address in your brief. Please feel free to cut and

think about what you are reading, and what you write, as these responses will

Please provide a summary of the
key concepts the readings are addressing. Don’t just list ideas! Offer a brief
discussion of what they are and why they are being addressed.  
2.       
What theories are being
discussed?  Are there any tensions (ie.
different points of view) about these within these conversations? 
3.       
How are issues like culture,
language, race, class, privilege, gender, sexuality, (etc.) being addressed
within these discussions.  Anything that
you find interesting or unique about it? If not, how would you incorporate
those missing discussions into the work?
4.       
Do you have any specific
questions about what the author(s) are asserting? (Note: Just writing, “I just
don’t get it” isn’t enough. Flesh out why you find the argument(s) or concepts
confusing or difficult to understand. 
5.     Make
sure to cite your readings according to APA guidelines.
