A paper that explores a case of a male or female serial murderer or team killers (the paper can, if you want, provide the background for your post in Discussion #4). You may choose a case from the Hickey book or otherwise. In the paper, please provide a profile of a serial murderer(s) that includes the following details:
Provide a background on the case, including discussion of the perpetrator’s childhood and why you feel this is an important case to discuss in your paper.
Describe the methods and motives for the crime: What types of weapons, if any were used? What were the motivations for the offense?
Discuss victim selection. Was there a victim profile? Were any paraphilias involved as possible motivations for victim selection?
Elaborate on what theory of violent behavior (or theories) best explain why the individual(s) committed these crimes?
Cover the law enforcement response to the crimes, including investigative and prosecutorial methods used in the case.
The paper should be at least (5) pages without title or reference pages, double-spaced in APA, MLA, or another professional stye of which you are most familiar. The paper should use at least (5) scholarly sources from academic books, journal articles, or book chapters you can access through UNR’s online library.
Rubric: For a grand total of (20) points:
15- fully discusses prompts A-E (3 points possible for each prompt).
5- uses at least five scholarly sources to support points in the paper.
*Deductions for papers short of assignment guidelines and for those that fail to use proper style.
