Katrina is a benchwarmer, yet comes to practice on time every day, treats her teammates with
respect, is willing to do the dirty work in practice, and patiently waits, without complaining, for
an opportunity to play in a game. Britney, on the other hand, is a starter with an abundance of
talent, frequently arrives late to practice, trash talks to her teammates, only wants to participate in
scrimmage-related drills, and takes the fact that she is a starter for granted.
In the interest of achieving excellence, how would you manage this situation? If you were the
head coach, what specifically, if anything, would you do to encourage good moral behavior in
Britney? If you were the head coach, what specifically, if anything, would you do to discourage
Britney’s immoral behavior and foster her moral growth?
