Reflection-on-action is crucial for your development and is a vital aspect of cr

Reflection-on-action is crucial for your development and is a vital aspect of critical thinking, as outlined by Tanner’s Model of Clinical Judgment. Reflection helps integrate learning from practice into personal experience, aiding in future decision-making in patient care situations (Giddens, 2021, p. 375).
These journal entries provide you with an opportunity to reflect and evaluate your experiences during the AFE Community Experience. Each entry should be completed within 24 hours after your experience to ensure you capture all of the details. However, you have until the end of week 10 to submit your validation of hours form and journal entries.
Instructions for Journal Entries:
Write a personal reflection about your AFE Community Experience for the day in 2-3 paragraphs.
Discuss the following aspects:
Professional Competence: Reflect on positive aspects of your day at the experiential site, including successful interactions with others and any notable observations. Describe any interpersonal interactions witnessed or participated in.
Challenging Situations: Describe any challenges or difficult situations encountered during the day at the experiential site. Include reasons for the challenges and potential underlying causes. Consider how you would handle similar challenges in the future.
Personal and Professional Growth and Development: Reflect on how you experienced the ‘art of nursing’ or relevant professional practices during the day. Discuss how these experiences contribute to your personal and professional growth, and how they might influence your future practice.
The reflection should be based on the below description of observable task.
This is a Med Surg and telementry unit.
Patient Assessment: RNs regularly assess patients’ health status, including monitoring vital signs, assessing pain levels, and evaluating overall condition.
Medication Administration: They administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
Patient Care Planning: RNs develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients’ needs and medical conditions.
Documentation: Accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes is crucial for continuity of care and legal purposes.
Monitoring: Continuous monitoring of patients on telemetry, which involves observing cardiac rhythms and responding to alarms promptly.
Patient Education: They educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, treatments, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and prevent complications.
