Note: Your paper must analyze a position that YOU currently hold, using at least one logical technique we studied. Then you must reinvent your position by establishing a standard form argument.

Directions: Each student is required to submit an Argument Paper. See the Course Syllabus for the mandatory due date. Each student must work individually. Guidelines for papers are as follows:
Papers must show mastery of two parts:
Analyze 35% — Analyze thoroughly a topic you currently hold. The analysis must demonstrate mastery of at least one critical thinking component we studied, i.e., fallacies, existential fallacy, Boolean/Aristotelian standpoint, Mill’s methods, validity, soundness, strength, etc. The analysis should either strengthen or weaken your position or do away with it altogether.
Argument 35% – Then, you must reinvent your topic based upon your analysis and by writing an argument in standard form. You must demonstrate mastery of at least one argument form, i.e., deduction (math or definition), induction (analogy, prediction, signs, etc.)
Papers must be only 1 typed pages text ONLY, no more no less.
Papers must be typed using MicroSoft Word
Font is 12 point Times New Roman, double spaced,
Margins standard 1 inch
The content is comprehensive
Your topic and position are stated clearly.
Quotations may be used as support. But research is not required.
Note: You MUST follow the paper guidelines to receive full credit! Remember, the assignment is opportunity for students to demonstrate THOROUGH reflection over the assigned reading from the textbook and class materials and discussion.
It is extremely important that papers are the ORIGINAL work of the student. DO NOT download any aspect of your paper from other sources.
