From left to right, homes on Dollar Street go from poor to rich. You will be able to observe living conditions and thus be able to see what access to resources looks like in practical terms. Opportunity and access to resources is clearly demonstrated in the real-life photos and family descriptions. For this discussion board, please complete the following steps:
1) Visit the website https://www.gapminder.org/dollar-street/matrix . Spend some time comparing and contrasting different families from different income levels and parts of the world.
2) Select two families from different parts of the world. Use the attached worksheet to make notes about specific comparisons. Note: You do not need to turn in the worksheet. This is for your preparation only.
3) Your initial post for Discussion Board #2 should cover the following: 1) Briefly describe your two families including what parts of the world they live in, their income levels, how many people are in each family, and incorporate descriptions of two comparison examples from the worksheet (bed, kitchen, favorite toy, etc.). 2) Compare and contrast the families. How does their income level influence their way of life? What does their material culture say about their values? 3) Which one of these families would you rather live with? Why?
