Locate your grade/subject-area-appropriate CUPS and choose a unit of study. This can be any unit that will allow you to incorporate listening, speaking, reading and writing practice.
Preview textbook materials, links to websites, supplementary materials, ELL Scaffolds outlined in the selected unit of study (whenever applicable to your grade/subject area CUPs).
Think of how you can apply your knowledge of:
to support and facilitate ELLs’ development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing (including spelling) skills in English.
Part 1: Potential Difficulty Table
Use a table (like the one shown below) to help you record the specific potential difficulties your ELLs may encounter in the selected unit of study. You must include the table in your Lesson Plan assignment.

Part 2: Lesson Plan
Think about assignments/activities that would help ELL students be successful learners in this lesson. You may use activities/strategies suggested in the content pages and assignments in this course or suggest new activities. Create a Lesson Plan that would incorporate the four modalities of language (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and incorporate your findings from Part 1 of this assignment.
