Using “The luck of roaring camp” by Bret Harte and “The Celebrated Jumping Frog

Using “The luck of roaring camp” by Bret Harte and “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” by Mark Twain, students will compare and contrast the texts in terms of their cultural or historical impact and their reflection of universal human values or experiences. What do we mean by universal human values or experiences? Think in terms of broader needs (spirituality, belonging, security, liberty, the pursuit of
happiness, etc.) or experiences (life, death, birth, love, etc.). The particular
details may vary from culture to culture, or even from individual to individual,
but there are certain values and experiences that are a part of every human
being’s life in some fashion.
Other Requirements:
In addition to the two texts, at least two peer-reviewed (scholarly or refereed)
sources must also be used in the paper.
The paper should be 4-6 pages in length (plus the Works Cited) and written in
MLA format.
The Works Cited must include all four sources (two primary and two
secondary).
((I, the customer, only need 4 pages.)
