For this assignment you will write a rhetorical analysis Essay on Nicholas Carr’s “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” This should be on page In your essay, you will examine the various rhetorical strategies Carr uses in his piece while also discussing his audience.

Your essay should be about 3-4 pages and address the prompt above.
It should adhere to MLA format (double-spaced, use 12 font Calibri or Times New Roman) and cite authors accordingly.
The works cited page must be written on a separate page and include all your sources (you will probably only cite Carr).
How to Structure Your Essay:
Introduction (1-2 paragraphs)
Your introduction should address the following questions:
What is Carr’s purpose in writing this piece?
What issue is Nicholas Carr discussing in his piece? What is his argument?
Who is his Carr’s intended audience?
Your answer to these questions will comprise your argument. Mention which author you believe is right and makes the more persuasive argument.
Body (3-4 paragraphs)
Your body paragraphs should do the following:
Analyze Carr’s specific rhetorical strategies. (List them and cite examples of each from pages 424-439… Also, add the parenthetic citations, which is Carr, page #). Try to incorporate ethos, logos, and pathos. How does he use these and to what effect? Does he take into consideration opposing viewpoints and if so, does this further his argument?
Does he focus on his claims? Does he go into other topics? Does doing so serve his argument?
Discuss Carr’s audience. Does he appeal to it successfully? Why or why not?
Conclusion (1-2 paragraphs)
Your conclusion should wrap everything up. In order to do this, consider addressing the following questions:
Does Carr end on a strong note? Does he pose any questions for further enquiry?
How convincing do you think Carr’s argument is? Explain your reasons.
Do you feel Carr accomplishes his purpose? Explain why you feel this way.
Consider these and other possibilities and end your paper on a strong note.
