The thesis ″The I

Review my thesis paper regarding to the blind review comments:
The thesis ″The Impact of Technology Transfer on Trade in the UAE″ builds upon the literature review and utilizes data from a questionnaire survey to investigate the perspectives of 200 respondents selected from the trade sector, universities, and industrial departments regarding the impact of technology transfer on the trade sector of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The study focuses on how technology transfer affects trade efficiency, labor skills, trade diversification, and the reduction of trade barriers, resulting in certain research conclusions. The thesis employs methods such as questionnaire surveys and data analysis to support its viewpoints, demonstrating appropriate research methodology. In terms of writing, the thesis exhibits fluent language, logical coherence, standardized language expression, and emphasizes key points, indicating that the author possesses a certain level of independent research capability.
The thesis requires further improvement in the following aspects:
In the literature review section, it is recommended to supplement the latest literature on the research topic.
The abstracts in both English and Chinese are too brief and should be expanded upon.
In the thesis, there is an inconsistency in the numbering under section 2.3 where ″1.1.1 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)″ appears. It is suggested to verify and correct this inconsistency. Similarly, the expression in the title of section 3.1 is incomplete and needs to be revised for clarity.
Many parts of the thesis lack proper paragraphing and punctuation, which affects readability. In chapter 4, there are as many as 15 subheadings, which should be categorized more logically.
The figures on pages 34 and 37 are overly simplistic and do not convey complete meanings. It is advisable to redraw these figures to improve clarity.
The original questionnaire used in the study should be presented as an appendix, as suggested.
The discussion in the thesis is limited, with more emphasis on describing the survey questionnaire. It is recommended to incorporate more economic discourse into the discussion. Additionally, the section on recommendations lacks depth and should be expanded upon.
The topic of the thesis is relatively good, meeting the requirements for the selection of master′s degree thesis topics in this field and aligning with the goals of this profession. The thesis has certain theoretical and practical research significance. However, there is insufficient review of the literature. Many relevant studies by scholars have not been included in the literature. The overall structure of the thesis is acceptable but too simplistic. The logic of the thesis is generally good, with the ideas being relatively clear. However, the thesis demonstrates poor mastery and application of professional knowledge, lacking in theoretical depth and failing to effectively utilize quantitative methods. For a master′s degree thesis in academic research, the research methods are overly simplistic. There are some issues regarding the standardization of the thesis, with the methods used being too basic and the conclusions being overly simplistic, with almost no policy recommendations. Overall, the thesis does not meet the standard of a master′s degree thesis and requires significant revisions before resubmission for review.
On page 19, section 1.1.1 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) should be moved to 2.3.1, while the subsequent section 2.3.1 Licensing and franchising should be changed to 2.3.2, and 2.3.2 Joint ventures and strategic alliances should be changed to 2.3.3. Additionally, 2.3.3 University and research institution collaborations should be labeled as 2.3.4. However, it′s worth noting that joint ventures (合资企业) are actually a form of FDI and should not be grouped with strategic alliances (战略联盟). Strategic alliances could also include joint ventures as one of their forms. Therefore, the classification criteria for these sections need to be revised.
The entire section 2.3 Technology Transfer Mechanisms should be treated as a separate section or chapter rather than being included in the literature review.
Sections 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5 of the thesis could be combined into a single chapter to discuss mechanism issues. This is not part of the literature review. However, this approach would leave only the first two sections for the literature review, resulting in insufficient literature research.
The title of section 3.1 Relationships between UAE Economic Growth and is incomplete.
The font in the entire third chapter appears to be bolded. This chapter doesn′t seem to contribute significantly and could be omitted.
There is a blank page on page 39.
Relying solely on a closed-ended questionnaire survey to study the relationship between technology transfer and trade in the UAE for an academic thesis might not yield reliable or highly accurate results.
The recommendations are too simplistic.
Overall, the research methods are overly simplistic, with little substantive content in chapters three and four, and the analysis in chapter five is also too simplistic.
