One recommendation is to avoid conducting mock interviews with family members due to the potential of not receiving candid feedback.
Activity Instructions
To begin this assignment, review the How to Prepare for a Mock Interview resource and then answer the following questions in a well-written paper.
Describe who you chose to conduct your mock interview with and explain why you chose this person.
Explain what type of job role you chose to interview for and discuss how you prepared for your mock interview.
After the mock interview, discuss your experiences with the following:Explain how you performed in your mock interview.
Discuss some of your strengths and areas of opportunity gained from conducting the interview.
Share whether you enjoyed the mock interview experience and if you found it beneficial to your development and explain why you feel this way.
Based on your experience and from the information read to prepare for the curriculum addressed this week, what types of presentation skills do you think are essential when engaging in an interview and explain why.
Discuss areas of your interviewing abilities (e.g., presentation skills, style, etc.) you would like to develop further and explain some strategies you might implement to help improve in these areas.
At the end of your submission, include a brief Design Statement explaining the process and tools you used to develop your work. Your statement should be about a paragraph or so, in your own words (rather than formally written), and unique to this assignment.
