For your final project, you will conduct a small-scale research study using preexisting data on a topic of interest to you. The entire project will follow the same structure as a research article but will be presented using a slide deck instead of a full written paper. It will be comprised of the following sections:
Research Problem
This section summarizes the research problem to be addressed. Relevant literature must be cited (between 2 and 5 sources; full references need to be included as either a footnote or on the last slide). (10 points)
Purpose and Research Question
This section will state the purpose of the study and the research question guiding the study. You can have more than one research question if you would like, but you are only required to have one.* (10 points)
Methodology
This section will identify the population, the sample, the variables, and the specific statistical analysis method that will be used to answer the research question. You must use one or more of the analysis methods discussed in this course. A justification for the selected analysis method as it relates to the research question and variables must be included. Relevant hypotheses and a discussion of underlying assumptions need be included. You can have more than one analysis if you would like, but you are only required to have one.* (30 points)
Results
This section describes the results of the study. The results need to include both the results of the assumption checks as well as the results of the statistical test itself. All relevant output from JAMOVI must be included. (40 points)
Conclusions
This section provides a brief discussion of the inferential results as they relate to the research question. This should include the answers to the research question and implications for policy, practice, and/or future research. (10 points)
The topic I chose was about the following.
Donating blood is very important considering the requirement of blood for transfusions every day. People donate blood for several reasons. What are the factors that affect individuals who donate blood? Researchers examined the relationship between several independent variables and the dependent variable. The independent variables included the recency of the last donation (in months), the frequency of donations (total number), the monetary amount of blood donated, and the time since the first donation (in months). These variables were analyzed to predict the dependent variable whether or not an individual donated blood. The study aimed to determine the influence of these predictors on blood donation behavior and provide insights into factors that encourage or deter individuals from donating blood in that specific month.
The independent variables are all continuous.
