Criterion B:
i. Your central argument is effectively organized by having a clear thesis statement, and well-
constructed body paragraphs, following the PEEATL format. You use various devices to have
cohesion between and within body paragraphs.
ii. You develop a persuasive argument from your thesis statement. Ideas build on each other. You
use transitions and comparative language effectively.
iii. You embed well-chosen quotations from the play effectively. You consistently follow MLA
formatting and citations, and format for drama.
Criterion D:
i. You write in a variety of sentence structures and use literary terms
ii. When writing your comparative essay, you continually use a high academic register and style
iii. Your writing contains very few or no errors in grammar, syntax and punctuation. Any errors
are not intrusive.
