Students will research a topic relevant to military history (significant individual, battle, or technology) of their choosing; only 1 brief per topic, subject to instructor approval. The student’s research will focus on “why” their topic is significant to the profession of arms and military affairs, not simply a retelling of what happened.
3.I.8.A. The research paper will be a minimum of five (5) pages of actual content with a cover page and a bibliography. Use Font, Times New Roman, 12 pt, double space between lines in paragraph. All page margins 1 inch. Do not print double sided. Students will use the Chicago Manual of Style (footnotes/endnotes) to properly cite any material used during their research.
3.I.8.B. Students will use a minimum of three (3) scholarly, peer-reviewed sources to support their analysis. The Universities’ Libraries are good starting points. As part of the overall process, Cadets will prepare and submit a sentence outline that covers their thesis, main supporting ideas, and conclusion.
