I have a Research
Paper for my “Psychology Research Methods” class due at the end of
May. The Professor has been having us slowly work on different parts of our
research individual research paper but there is a bigger part of it that is
due. In our class, we all were split into groups of 5 and asked to create a
group main topic for research then we were asked to come up with 5 different
sub topics for each individual in my group that was related to the main topic.
Our group main topic is on “Cognitive Psychology and Memory”
and the following individual topics for our group were:
“Working Memory
Capacity and Cognitive Performance”
“Neuroplasticity
and Memory Enhancement”
“Emotion and
Memory Consolidation”
“Age-Related
Changes in Memory Processes “
“False Memories
and Memory Distortions”
The topic that I
need to focus on for my Research Paper is “False Memories and Memory
Distortions” some sections of this research paper have been done but
they will need a little more expansion and a few more references to include to
make it a stronger paper. So please, don’t feel so overwhelmed because some of
the work is done.
The Professor
required the class to write a Literature Review which will become part
of the abstract of the Research Paper. I have included some of
the completed assignments that can be used for the research paper (they will
just need some work on incorporating it into the paper) and I have included
some specific instructions this Professor has for each section of the Research
Paper which will be helpful. I have also included (see attached files) the e-book
(it’s online and in PDF form and does count as one of the references for this research
paper) we are using in class and it
lists many of the concepts for the research paper if more clarification is
needed. (It’s labeled: “Research Methods in Psychology Book – Psych 2 Class”)
The Professor
has included a Sample Paper of what the Research Paper should
look like and I have attached it to the files as well. The template is a guide
with information on how the outline of the Research Paper should look in
general. The title of this file is “Final
Research Paper Example – This is a Template”.
The most difficult
part of this Research Paper (at least for me and this is why I need assistance
mostly) is going to be the “Descriptive Statistics” part that needs to
be included and incorporated into in the Research Paper (the Results
Section).
Sections of the
Research Paper:
1. (Title Page) Title of Research
Paper: “The Impact of False Memories and
Memory Distortions”
2. Abstract Section: (Literature Review:
This part is complete & I have
attached the document)
3. Introduction Section: “False
Memories and Memory Distortions “
(I have completed 4 Hypotheses
and attached this completed
assignment which will be helpful for this section
of the paper. I have also
included “Questions
for my topic” as it might be helpful as well)
4. Methods Section: The Professor wants this section divided
into
sub-sections like Participants, Materials, Procedures, etc.
5. Results Section: Hypothesis 1, Hypothesis 2, Hypothesis 3,
Hypothesis 4,
and the Descriptive Statistics.
6. Discussion Section: Divide into
sub-sections like Findings, Limitations,
Future directions. Conclusion
7. References Section: I have a total of
5 references (4 journal articles and 1
book which is the book we are using
in class which is attached in the files) but the Professor wants us to have
at least 7 to 8 references total. The
professor is encouraging us to us “Google
Scholar” to look for material
related to our topics. The articles or
journals must be within the last 5
years.
