Assignment #2: Reliability and Validity asks you to evaluate your selected rese

Assignment #2: Reliability and Validity asks you to evaluate your selected research article for gaps and limitations, clearly express those gaps and limitations in writing, and offer at least two suggestions for future research that resolve the gaps and limitations of the current study.
Introduction (no more than 1 paragraph)
Begin the assignment with a paragraph that identifies the first hypothesis tested in the study, the independent and dependent variables expressed in that hypothesis, and the procedure that tested the hypothesis.
Section Two: Instrument Validity (two to three paragraphs)
Next consider how the independent and dependent variables are operationalized, measured, and collected. In other words, provide a critique of the variables’ face, content, and construct validity. Some questions to consider for this critique could be:
Is this an effective way of measuring the variable? Do the questions or treatments reflect the way most people experience the variable in the real world? Can the variable be broken into multiple dimensions, and are all dimensions assessed? For example, if the variable has physical and mental dimensions, are both dimensions tested? Are there any levels that aren’t being considered?
Section Three: Internal Threats to Validity (two to three paragraphs)
In this section, consider the article’s internal threats to validity. Identify one threat that you think the study controls well and explain why. Then, explain one threat that you think needs to be improved upon. Explain why you think the threat limits the validity if the research and what needs to be done in the future to fix it.
As a reminder, the threats to internal validity are:
Regression to the mean
Demand Effects
Selection of Subjects
Maturation Effects
Instrumentation
Mortality Effects
Testing
History Effects
Section Four: Generalizability (two to three paragraphs)
The final section of your critique explains how generalizable the results of the study are to the overall population in question. Explain one of the strengths of the research design and one thing that limits the generalizability of the study.
For experimental designs:
consider the manner in which causation and control can be verified. Was there a random assignment? If not, what forms of control were applied? To what extent can we be confident that these results will be the same for all people in the population?
For survey designs,
How did researchers identify the population frame and how were respondents selected from that frame? What was the response/participation rate for survey? Do you think that is enough to be confident that the results will be the same for all people in the population frame?
Conclusion (no more than one paragraph)
End your review by suggesting a future research design and approach that you think could answer the questions offered by the validity and generalizability questions you identified above.
