As Greenwell discussed in detail, university athletics departments are increasingly concerned with the decreasing consumption behaviors of students at their school. Additionally, giving by “young alumni” is also down. Thus, one way universities have been trying to get students more involved – and in the habit or giving – is starting student booster groups.
1. First, find at least three examples of student booster groups in intercollegiate athletics. Provide details about their structure, stated goals and objectives, and any interesting initiatives they have undertaken.
2. Morph back into your role with the Meadowlarks and propose a new student booster group. What benefits will you provide and why? What different giving levels will you have and at what price points?
3. Finally, develop a transitional membership for students to join after they graduate. Using Adobe Spark again (this time, the Page option) or Canva (free), create a landing page with the details of this new level that you will send out to graduates each semester. Paste the link at the end of this document.
