Using the data set provided on Brightspace (or another appropriate data set), conduct at least two different inferential tests in SPSS.
In one document, submit the following information for each test:
1) Hypothesized relationship you are testing. Include direction, if appropriate.
2) Rationalize your choice of test by stating a) why it is the appropriate choice, given b) the level of measurement of your c) variables. Note IV and DV, if appropriate for the chosen test(s). For tests requiring assumption testing: please include these results (e.g., Levene′s, Kolmogorov-Smirnov) in your rationalization. For tests requiring transformation, indexing, binning, or other manipulations of the variable(s), please state what, why, and how you… did what you did.
3) Present the output of each test, a) as provided by SPSS and b) in APA tabular format.
4) Provide an APA-style write-up of the results.
5) Provide a short discussion of your results.
TIPS:
Remember that stathand.net provides generally excellent how-tos & examples.
If you cannot directly cut and paste the SPSS output using the Virtual SINC connection, you can take a screen shot and paste the cropped output as an image into your document.
Section 4 is a few sentences, at most, which provide only the statistical results, not your interpretation of these results. Interpretation happens in section 5 (which should be about a paragraph or two, and definitely less than half a page!).
